A dog was killed in  a single-vehicle crash in Delhi on the weekend.Police report a 60-year-old man from Marathon was southbound on Swimming Pool Road around 8:30 p.m. Sunday when his vehicle left the highway and plummeted 20 feet into a ravine full of water. Police say the vehicle was submerged.The driver was able to make it to safety but Norfolk OPP found the family dog deceased when they pulled the vehicle out of the water.The driver was transported by paramedics to local hospital before being transferred to a Hamilton hospital for treatment of serious injuries, said police.“The investigation is ongoing and charges are pending,” said Const. Ed Sanchuk, spokesperson for the Norfolk OPP, said in a posting on social media. “Impairment by drugs is considered a contributing factor.”Driver escapes/family dog deceased after vehicle plummets 20 feet into water on Swimming Pool Rd @NorfolkCountyCA.
