first_img1 Porto are unlikely to sign Watford full-back Miguel Layun permanently this summer, according to reports in Portugal.The Mexican attacking full-back has spent this season on loan at the Portuguese giants and has been a revelation for Jose Peseiro’s team, scoring five goals in 34 appearances.His form has prompted interest from Real Madrid and has left Watford in a strong selling position should they decide to cash in on the 27-year-old.Layun did make four appearances for the Hornets at the start of the season before Quique Sanchez Flores decided he was surplus to requirements at Vicarage Road and shipped him off to Porto.According to O Jogo, Porto are keen on signing Layun on a permanent deal but don’t see his £5m release clause as value for money.Therefore, Layun is set to return to Watford at the end of the season and may begin pre-season training with the club before a decision over his permanent future is made.
