This block of five luxury units in the Gold Coast is being offered through a giveaway.A BLOCK of five luxury apartments worth $4.11 million is up for grabs for the same price as a pint of beer at a pub — but those interested in the homes only have until Saturday to stake their claim. The units in Gold Coast holiday spot Palm Beach are being given away through a draw to raise money for military veterans, with tickets starting from $10.Entries are set to close December 16, with the winner to be announced December 22, and more than three quarters of the roughly two million tickets have already sold. The complex is being given away by charity group RSL Art Union, who are also including $304,661 worth of furniture and electrical appliances into the giveaway. The units have alfresco dining areas.RSL Art Union general manager Tracey Bishop said getting the keys to the 13-bedroom, 11-bathroom building would be “a dream come true” for whoever becomes the new owner.“This prize is five homes in one … (it) will be the country’s richest prize home giveaway,” Ms Bishop said. The penthouse has panoramic ocean views, including from the living rooms, three bedrooms and open-plan dining and kitchen area. There will also be a Christmas tree and gifts thrown into the mix, including a $5800 surfboard ready to open on Christmas Day. The units are 80m from the nearest beach. The homes on the corner of Third Ave and Jefferson Lane include four two-bedroom apartments and a two-level penthouse with 398 sqm of floor space.Together, the luxury apartments 80m from the beach have the potential to generate an estimated $209,560 a year in rents.Completed in September, the complex includes a pool, gardens, barbecue area and lift access to every floor, including private entry to both penthouse levels, along with parking space for 10 cars. The smaller units could potentially rent out for about $34,000 each.“They could become a landlord, keep and live in one apartment and earn a significant rental income off the remaining four apartments. No matter what they decide, this is going to be one lucky winner,” Ms Bishop said.Local real estate agent Troy Dowker of Ray White said the location was well-sought after with buyers in the area.Video Player is loading.Play VideoPlayNext playlist itemMuteCurrent Time 0:00/Duration 0:57Loaded: 0%Stream Type LIVESeek to live, currently playing liveLIVERemaining Time -0:57 Playback Rate1xChaptersChaptersDescriptionsdescriptions off, selectedCaptionscaptions settings, opens captions settings dialogcaptions off, selectedQuality Levels576p576p360p360p216p216p180p180pAutoA, selectedAudio Tracken (Main), selectedFullscreenThis is a modal window.Beginning of dialog window. You’d have better luck living on this street if you won the lottery.”Most of those who have already bought tickets for the draw spent roughly $50, according to Ms Bishop.
